Let me help you make your prose "letter perfect." I work primarily with The Chicago Manual of Style, although I am also familiar with the MLA Handbook and APA Publication Manual.

Proofreading

Proofreading is sentence-level editing. If you are confident in the overall structure of your writing, I can correct your text for spelling, punctuation, and basic errors in grammar and word usage.

Don't submit that ezine article without a "once over" from another pair of eyes. You might not catch the one mispelling or misplaced apostrophe, but your next client might – and be turned off enough to look somewhere else!

Copy Editing

Copy Editing is paragraph-level editing. If you like the overall structure of your document, but think your writing could use a tweak, I will check your prose for awkward or unclear sentences, and make sure that you maintaining a clear and consistent style for your audience.

Copy Editing also includes the steps listed above, under Proofreading.

Developmental Editing (Rewriting)

Developmental Editing is document-level editing. I can rework and/or restructure your existing text for clarity and consistency, and make suggestions on how your project can be improved.
